Occurs on low intertidal rocks to subtidally (35 m) from Esquimalt, British Columbia, to Punta Maria, Baja California.

Morphology and Identification 2
Grows to be 20 - 35 cm tall. Brownish to bright brick-red in color. Lanceolate blades, often not divided. In clusters. Variable morphologies.
