Habitat and Range 3

Occasionally found growing on other algal turf. Resides in the lower intertidal zones of Santa Cruz island and La Jolla, California, to Revillagigedo island, Mexico.

Morphology and Identification 3

Deep rose red, usually growing between 2 - 4 cm tall. Easily identifiable from its distinct chlorine smell when broken open.

Previously named Laurencia sinicola.
