Although this was a captive buck at a resort, They are native in this area and this one is probably of local origin.Note its tiny size, smaller even the the little Couse's of Arizona.

Spectacled Bear (Tremarctos ornatus)Observer

Captive 22 year old male. The story is, this bear was brought here as a cub with a sibling after they were orphaned, and the staff at the RNA raised the cubs. A few year ago the sibling got cancer and die, leaving this old guy solo. Defiantly native and of local origin, but captive.I guestimate he weighed 400lbs, bigger than most American Black Bears I have seen.
