Photos / SoundsWhatAmyema conspicuaObserverecologyemmaDescriptionMistletoe growing on Casuarina tree (4 m tall, dbh 8 cm, crown 4 m). No latex, no oil dots, no fragrance from leaves when crushed. Leaves extremely glabrous, quite thick and snap easily. Young leaves slightly less so. Some longitudinal veins visible. Amyema congener subsp. divergens generally has a shorter (and non-hairy) petiole compared to A. conspicua subsp. conspicua – which applies here. But I think the thickness of leaves, red petals and slight visibility of venation on the leaf underside make A. conspicua subsp. conspicua a better fit overall. |
