Squirrels run to and fro my Coast Live Oak tree all day long. They are gathering the acorns of Live Oak and burying them in my yard and in other yards around my neighborhood. They often carry bunches of acorns and sometimes a a small branch with acorns attached.
Comments & Identifications
Pretty sure this is an Eastern Grey, which have been introduced to the Bay Area. Easterns have a lot of brown fur (particularly on the face), are much less shy about people and houses, and make the same scolding sounds that will be familiar if you've spent time in the eastern US. I've never seen a Western Grey down in the valley.
