The only way to tell (as far as a field id) is the color of the inner thigh. We have both here, but versicolor is far more common.

Yeah...that's what I figured. The one in your hand appears to be a metamorph H. versicolor, but I think the one in the leaves resembles H. avivoca. I think you may have photographed a metamorph of each.

I've gotta disagree. It's been my experience that if you keep the guy in the leaves overnight, by the next day he may look just like the guy in the hand.
