I would have called this Sarcoscypha coccinea. Is this a different species or a synonym.

By the way, if you ever have a few extra minutes and want to scan through my (rcurtis and parkbiologist223) fungi, I would be very appreciative : )

S. coccinea is the western version, found in CA and the Pacific Northwest.
I'll be happy to wander through your fungi photos. Hope I'll be helpful!
