Description

By some blackberry bushes I saw, I found a spinney type of plant. It had a purple flower sticking up, and was pretty tall. Not as tall as me of course (I'm 5'3"), but it at least came up to my chest. The weather was warm outside, and I was walking threw Howarth park.

wow, you found a lot of interesting plants on this hike! Milk thistle has large leaves with white patches on them... Italian thistle is a bit more densely spiny with more spines on the stem and smaller flowers . I also think milk thistle blooms later in the year.

Yeah, I wasn't too sure about this plant when I was looking it up. But now that I go back, I remember skipping over the Italian thistle because I was getting tiered. Today when I look at it, I can see that you are right.
