Description

Fairly large group of birds that I have never seen before in an strange area. Just off highway 26 west of Othello is a lowlands with some basalt rock surrounded by a pure white "marsh" full of most likely agricultural runoff of salts and carbonates. Just down from that is the little pond where these unusual birds were. There was at least one other species of bird, but I was unable to get any good pictures.

The other ones in the back might be black-necked stilts.
