Description

This lichen i believe is nicknamed 'old man's beard'. I'm not completely sure.

Lichens in this genus usually look like hairy spaghetti: long strands with hairy things hanging off them. If you snap one of the strands you should see it has a sort of rubbery interior cortex.

Also, it's always good to be a bit careful with common names, particularly ones like "old man's beard." Since there are a lot of things that look like the facial hair of aging male hominids, that name probably corresponds to a slew of different taxa.
