Some of the leaves bear a resemblance to the PawPaw (Asimina triloba). They are in your area I believe.

There is pawpaw at Goodyear Heights MP, but not that I know of at this specific location. It may also be black gum (Nyssa sylvatica)

That crossed my mind but the leaves didn't seem quite as glossy as the black gum I have seen. For that matter they don't really have quite the shape of most of the Paw Paw I have seen either. Since you are familiar with the area then I definitely differ to your wise council...
