for context, please see Daily Account for Leavenworth, WA on 5/12. there are about 200 species under the Castilleja genus for indian paintbrush, but i think the one we saw most resembled the coast indian paintbrush which is native to western north america from washington to baja california. if anyone agrees or disagrees i'd love to know!
