Description

This is the second time I've observed this same snake. He was in the exact same place he was last week when me and my son found him. He has very distinct colors and size. I am happy to know that this is a permanent home for him and that he's not passing through. The only problem is that his habitat is directly alongside a busy road. Today I actually picked him up and handled him for a while, he seems old and his skin was rough. He eventually bit my arm as if to say he had enough of me. When I came back through this area he was back on the same rock as before.

He looks like an old boy doesn't he!
Did you get marked with scent gland also? That smell takes some washing to get off! LOL!

I was very fortunate he didn't musk on me at all. He seemed to have a I don't give a crap about life anymore attitude. The reason he was probably hanging out here is the free lunch of baby toads that are prolific here. Within feet of this snake's location this year I've already seen and caught a Northern Water Snake and an Eastern Garter Snake and observed a couple different specimens of each as well.

Sounds like a bit of a Hotspot you got there, look forward to seeing and reading more of your observations. Regards Neil
