Coast Live Oak is the only live oak we've ever found growing in this area. Interior live oak is very uncommon in the Santa Monicas, only occurring in a few small patches, canyon live oak has never been found there to my knowledge, and there is scrub oak around but it doesn't look like this - much pointier leaves.

Valley Oak also occurs in interior areas of the Santa Monicas.
