Description

A sunny afternoon in the High 70's/ low 80's. We crossed Dean Keeton and saw a Hawk. It gave us a good view of its red tail, and belly-band of dark streaks. It soared over head then landed on a windowsill across the street on a building. It stayed there while we watched it.

Description

Looking off the cliff that afternoon around 3:00, we noticed something moving. It was hopping around the tree tops. It was a warm 84 degrees and sunny afternoon At first look it was an obvious titmouse with the white belly, and light blue body, rusty color right under the wings. The crest was a very obvious black that contrasted with the rest of the coloring.

Description

A bird with a beautiful long tail that split when it flew down to the ground. Was perched on a phone wire in a clearing. Being under it, it was easy to see the orange belly with a white throat. It was a bright sunny day, 80?.

Description

Two white-tailed deer, a doe and fawn, where on the side of the road standing in an electrical high-line. As we approached they took off down the high-line, through a clearing and into the forest. They both seemed to foraging along the high-line. It was late afternoon and getting dark, it was a warm afternoon.

Description

A large rabbit with small ears. Got very close to the group on the path, assuming it is just so accustomed to people. It did not become skittish until people were within a couple feet or less of it. We spotted it on the path and got to take photos then it took of into the woods. There were ample water at the Sanctuary. Was a hot and humid day.

Description

Got to see it feeding it's young. Cannot tell in this photo but could see the green lore on many of the Great Egrets. Was nesting with many other egrets and spoonbills, these were the only young seen though. It was starting to sprinkle in the afternoon and was a very hot and humid day.

Description

A beautiful egret, whom when in plumage has red on the normally all orange bill. The crest, forehead, and parts of the body( a little on the chest here) turn a light shade of orange. Was sitting by itself but was with a group of nesting egrets and spoonbills. There were nesting in trees above the water.

Description

A beautiful pink colored bird with a bright orange tail. The bill does look like a spoon, hence the name. Was roosting with many egrets, I am assuming for protection. The day was hot and humid, was cloudy and started raining as we left around 4:30 that afternoon.

Description

A toad that was swimming in our pool after a rain storm. Light brown in coliration, could see the warts in the black spots. Lighter color down the middle of the back.
