Found at dusk, at the top of a ridge trail off the UC Berkeley Strawberry Canyon Fire Trail. Was under a big log, settling in for the night. By the size and coloration I would say a sexually mature female. All other alligator lizard sightings have been neonates and juveniles in the lower cow pasture grasses, such as Wildcat Canyon. Also, her tail seemed rather short for an alligator lizard - this might be a regrowth (esp since the coloration is dull vs the rest of body).
