Location is approximate. Sighting was in a tree on Sugar River somewhere in between Valley Road boat launch and Highway 69 crossing. We were paddling. While driving Eastbound on Odana Rd, I saw this critter (coyote, I'm pretty sure) loping across Odana Rd to the entrance of the golf course. Then it turned around and started to go back, but stopped in the middle of my lane of traffic. I stopped my car to wait for it and eventually got out my phone to take a picture (at which exact point it decided not to sit still anymore). As it ran away back up the side street sidewalk, I thought I glimpsed something red or possibly orange around its neck - but it might have been an ear tag.

Saw a coyote (I believe) trotting down the sidewalk on South side of 5000 block of Odana Rd. It did not seem to alter its behavior as a result of seeing us.
my dog and I watched it from the other side of the street until it left view, still on the sidewalk heading toward Whitney Way.
My dog had earlier been sniffing our yard with unusual interest on the North side of Odana. An hour or two prior, all the dogs in our house started barking and acting like someone was at the door or in the yard. at the time, I thought it was probably an animal from the way they were acting.

Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes)Observer

While dropping off bags at the St Vinny's box late at night, we saw a fox trotting along Hollister Ave. S/he eventually disappeared into one of the yards opposite the Blessed Sacrament parking lot.
