Description

This is a deciduous shrub. It has red berry-like fruits and alternately arranged leaves. It leaves are green and oval. Its stems and branches are also twig-like in appearance although they are much firmer. There was only one of such in the area studied.

Description

This is an evergreen tree. Its stem has two colours; grey at the bottom and brownish yellow at the top. Its branches are also brownish yellow with scaly texture. Its leaves (needles) are green and spirally arranged. It has dark brown/black cones, which when spread has a pyramidal shape. There were 3 of such plants in the area observed.

Description

It is a tall tree with a grey bark with vertical ridges and horizontal fissures. Its leaves are heart-shaped and serrated and are alternately arranged. Small yellow buds were observed, which could be indicative of flowers and/or fruits. Its branches grow in an upward pattern. There were 2 of such trees in the area.

Description

This tree has a tall, dark grey bark with deep fissures. Its leaves are triangular, coarsely toothed and have flattened stems. It is a deciduous tree. The tree's crown is pyramidal -although not sharply so, with the lower branches spreading over a wide area. This specie is relatively dense in the area observed.

Description

It has red/orange berry-like fruits. Its leaves are oppositely arranged and are lobed (or toothed) and deciduous. It has white flowers with 5 petals. Its bark and branches look like twigs and it has several stumps. Only one plant of this specie was seen.

Description

This tree seems smaller than others around it. Its leaves are long and simple and have serrated margins. They also have twig-like branches with a strong stem. It bears red, round and relatively small fruits. Fruit bearing branches hold a cluster 3 or more fruits. Only one crabapple tree was observed in this area.
