Description

Monarch Butterfly migration!! Monarchs by the hundreds hanging from spanish moss draped over branches of Monterrey Pines! Not such a great picture but if you look closely you can see the orange in their wings but the underside of their wings looks grey/brown so its hard see them hanging in the mosses. Such a beautiful amazing experience!

Fuzzy black and brown caterpillar. Sunny, cool day (approx 60 degrees). Found crossing the trail headed towards dense shrubby vegetation, heavy with poison oak.
