Description

Collected where the at the head waters of the Sipsey River.

I saw a news story and thought this might be the same species:
http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2016/11/zebra_crayfish_new_species_ala.html

The Sipsey River was under drought conditions during this time. Perhap dissolved oxygen levels have been diminished as result of lower flow rates (stagnation) and higher temperatures (lower O saturation). Perhaps this could have driven them into shallow waters. That's where I found them at night, but they could have been foraging. Just a thought.
