This plant was in a large concentration along side the trail. The stalk is very straight and each little break it branches out into dozens of hair-like strands.

This shrub lined the trail. It's flowers are like little while bells and there seemed to be a very low flower to lead ratio.

These slugs are very common to this area. This one specifically was found on a tree. There were other on the sides of the trail between the shrubs and leaves.

This plant was found in an dry opening where the sun is usually shinning. The leaves have a layer of fuzziness and always come out of the stem in pair on either side.

This plant was found in a clearing that was drier than the usual humid redwood forest. The flowers were in bunches at the tops of long stems.

We found this snake in the path, killed by another hiker or animal. It was about a foot long and half an inch thick.

These ferns populate many the majority of the sides of the trail ravines. They have one long central stem with the leaves at the bottom being longer and slowly decreasing in size as they go up the stem.

We only saw one of these plants on the trail. The stem was very black and each leaf was orderly fitting with the next.

This was a very large bush with only a few raspberry-looking fruits. It had a lot of sun exposure and didn't show any signs of dampness or rain.
