Tall cedar with scale like "needles", bark long and stringy with red tint. Most branches high on trunk, but few thin branches lower (one in photo). Salal, sword fern and Tall Oregon Grape nearby. Near service road at parking lot B.

Evergreen Huckleberry (Vaccinium ovatum)Observer

Leaves are 1-1.5 inches long, about half an inch wide, shiny, dark green and finely toothed. They are alternating on red stem. Berries are dark blue-purple, and numerous in clusters. A few white-pink flowers are also visible. Whole plant about 5 feet tall, unknown width due to there being a small stand of the bushes. On a high traffic walking path between Sem II C and D. Common snowberry and salal are nearby.

Very big tree, at least 30 ft. tall. 5-lobed leaves with distinct lobes, v-shaped samaras on the ground under the tree branches. Bark is dark brown, mosses on fallen branches nearby. There are young maples and other small trees, as well as quite a bit of blackberry or black raspberry surrounding the large tree. (At Nisqually Wildlife Refuge)
