Gray Fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus)Observer
chickadeeDescription
Before going to bed I turned on the floodlights in the backyard, and there was a gray fox, gleaning beneath the tube feeders. The fox looked up, startled -- but then went back to its work. It's been back many times since, in the evenings... Lovely creature!
It's now Feb.22
...and the gray fox comes many nights of the week after dark.

In years past Monarchs would spend time on our many plantings but this one left before I could take its picture.

American Painted Lady butterfly caterpillar:
These caterpillars (a dozen or more of them) have taken over an annual sage-like plant that I overwintered and planted in a flowerbed.
