Black-bellied Slender Salamander (Batrachoseps nigriventris)Observer
chrispherpDescription
Flipped these 2 tiny slenders under a rock in a dried out drainage with some moisture still under the rocks. sorry I didn't get good pictures of belly, but my ID in the field was black-bellied due to black belly and tiny legs. I hope I'm right because this is a subspecies lifer!

chrispherpDescription
My main target for the hike was newts and my friend had just seen them here a week earlier so we went back in hopes they were still out. When we got to stream sure enough we found a bunch swimming in the pools below the waterfalls. Lifer! We got in the water and swam with them, so cool wish I had an underwater camera. We must have seen over 20, they were in almost every pool, but only took a handful of pics.
