Medium Sized trees with heart shaped leaves. Leaves have a serrated edge shape (soft with no spines). The flowering bodies on different trees appear to be male/female. The male (?) flowering bodies are red, the female (?) are greenish brown.

A medium sized tree with small five petal purple flowers. Last year's dried and rotten fruit could be seen in the leaf litter and hanging from branches. Fruit are about 1.5 cm diameter, and their color is uncertain (dried and possibly faded).

This plant seems happier trailing on the ground than climbing trees. Stems can extend more than ten feet along the ground, but plants can also stand up a foot or so.

Description

Straight Leaves w. hollow center, somewhat flattened compared to store-bought green onions. When crushed, the leaves have a distinct onion scent. The plant has a small white bulb below ground.

It does not appear to be in flower.

Re-photographed in March, the plant looks like it's setting bulblettes on the end of its stems where flowers should be. Waiting to see if these buds flower.
