Description

Collected about 10km east of the Camden Haven River entrance, NSW. It was swimming alone around my boat in around 60m of water. The specimen is around 15mm long. I have it in a tank at home now. Believe it may be Terapon jarbua, though keen for anyone who might be able to confirm.

Description

The anglerfish was floating on the surface at night on a run out tide. When collected it floated in a bucket of water for a few minutes, then expelled air through its mouth and became negatively buoyant. I have observed this previously. Has anyone seen this behaviour before?
