Swan Creek in Puyallup. I'm curious about this moss because of its color. It was red-burnt orange. I'm wondering if it was a Oligotrichum species that is just different in morphology because of its habitat. It was growing as a mat near the water's edge. Very damp and shaddy areas. It does appear there is lamellae on the leaves. The leaves were sharp and there was a single costa seen. Has anyone seen this color before?
