What
Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis)Observer
donnaschodroskiDescription
This female cardinal was sitting in her nest, protecting her eggs. I observed the cardinal family from my living room window. The nest is in a butterfly bush and the cardinals have been using this nest for years. The reason the picture is so "gray" is because the photo was taken through the window and screen and I had to zoom in quite a bit. I didn't want to stand too close to the window and scare the mamma to be. I also took some video of the babies after they were born.
What
Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata)Observer
donnaschodroskiDescription
This Blue Jay is just one of many that frequent our yard. We provide suet and birdseed and our yard also has plenty of wild strawberries and shelter.
What
White-tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus)Observer
donnaschodroskiDescription
These deer come on an almost daily basis to our yard. We have observed up to four deer in our yard at one time and I have been able to photograph and video them a few times. We presume these are the "kids" as they are smaller in size than the two other deer who show up, a larger male and female. This is a male and female here.
