Leaves in groups of two. The plant was found in a semi-shady area and it had a spider on it. There were about 20 more of this plant scattered all around.

This fern had three main fronds and only one of them appeared to have been damaged. The fern was found in a semi-shady area where it was by a dry creek. I identified this fern using "Plants Of The San Francisco Bay Region Mendocino to Monterrey".

This plant was very prickly and had very poky seeds or flowers. The plant was about two feet tall and had a yellowish brown hue. This was the only one visible on the hillside I found it on.

This spider was found by a creek. It was very fast and could spin a spider web very quickly. The spider had a yellowish-brown hue.

This shrub was found in a shady area with what appeared o be rich soil. The shrub had long pointy leaves, but no fruit or flowers yet. With the help of " Trees and Shrubs of California" I was able to determine that I had spotted a California Bay.

This fungi's was found on a fallen log. Only visible on one other log. The fungi had a distinct pattern similar to turkey-tail fungi, which is what led me to believe I found Turkey-tail.

This brownish yellow dragonfly was found around a pond. This dragonfly was about an inch long and had four wings.

Pacific Chorus Frog (Pseudacris regilla)Observer

This frog was about the size of a penny and was found hopping around a large pond along with another 100 frogs. It has distinct markings around the face and the eyes. I believe this is a Sierran Tree Frog because it looks similar to another frog I previously identified.

Clear-winged Grasshopper (Camnula pellucida)Observer

This grasshopper was about 2.5 inches long. It took me three attempts to successfully catch this grasshopper and I speculate it was the only one at the pond. It was missing a leg and appeared to be a matured adult. This organism was probably not able to jump correctly because it would always hop diagnolly.

Found near a pond in a population size around 100. These frogs were all around the pound and in spider webs. The frogs were in grass that was knee high. They are the size of a nickel.

A vividly colored spider that is about the size of an average palm. The spider had caught a frog in its web. The spider was in knee high grass.
