Have observed 8-16 of these Great-tailed grackles. Quite vocal and amusing in the Home Depot parking lot. First siting of these birds here (though I am a newcomer), verified with local expert and article for more information.

Large Black Bumblebee feeding on salvia. Several at one time. Was told they were carpenter bees but they moved like bumble bees and had hairy abdomens. Please check photo and let me know. Thank you.

No clear visual of this bird, but I do have a recording of it;s lovely song. Best description...sparrow or heavy finch body. Some yellow on head and top of tail, brown bars on wings. Sang from phone line in urban area.
Please listen and let me know what this bird is. I tried through Cornell's site, but didn't make a match yet. Thank you!

Marsh wren singing near nest on bulrushes. Overcast morning, high 60s. Call and response from other birds. Bird also flew to bare tree top and sang from there. No good visuals, but listen to song file and please let me know if ID is accurate as I couldn't see it clearly with no binoculars.

Two chicks on ledge in barn.
Observed 11:30 Am.
Adult left when I entered.
Chicks hissed and beak snapped.
I stayed only short time < 5 min.
Each season there are chicks on this same platform.
Climbed ladder and placed iPhone 6s on selfie stick for photo. Also have video but can't upload.
Two audios added" one of chicks, then one taken previous night near barn by rice field where you hear adult owl.

One male and one female in the same holly tree. The male was singing. They both were eating holly berries. I observed them for about 10 minutes before they flew off. It was a gray, overcast day so I did not get a good photo, but will attach one and included a rough audio from my phone.
