Was walking across an area where mulch is made from yard waste toward a stream that has a pond on the other side.

Saw yellow stripes on head. Red ears have faded away, but the steepness of the shell says slider rather than painted turtle.

Observer

Description

Pale blue egg looks like it may have faded somewhat. Based on size, shape, general color category, and habitat, I'm guessing it's either a catbird or robin. Not pointed enough for a wood thrush. The color is just throwing me off.

Found on the ground on an agricultural/deciduous forested lakeside property. Appears to have been predated by a bird.

Scat found on the side of a dirt road between fields of soybean. Lots of hedgerows, ag fields, crp grass, scattered houses, and forested areas near a lake. Hard to tell what it contained. Looked like some fruit or vegetable skins.
