Description

Cyclocorus lineatus (Northern Triangle-Spotted Snake) is endemic and is widely distributed to some islands of the Philippines. This snake was observed at around 600 masl of the limestone forest in Cebu. It prefers a habitat close to rocky rivers and streams, and other similar rocky freshwater habitats. It appears to be tolerant of a degree of habitat degradation, and has been reported near to villages. The main prey of the species are fish. Like all organisms the very best way to conserve them is by protecting or conserving their habitat. :)

Platymantis corrugatus (rough-backed forest frog) is a species belonging to Ceratobatrachidae family. This species is known because of its size and longitudinal ridges on its back. It is endemic to some major islands in the Philippines and it inhabits both primary and secondary forests. The major threat to this species is habitat loss due to deforestation. Prevention to further logging activities is the most important conservation measure.

Rhacophorus pardalis (Harlequin tree frog) is a frog species that belongs to the family Rhacophoridae. The status of this species is least concern as categorized by the IUCN because of its wide distribution. It inhabits both primary and secondary rainforests and breeds near swampy pools. The major threat for this frog species is logging and prevention of further deforestation is the most recommended conservation measure. This species was observed during its breeding season as shown in the photo.
