Sheetweb and Dwarf Weavers (Family Linyphiidae)Observer
gbalussDescription
Seen on one of the Mt Troy Ski routes. Mobile and appeared energetic despite cool temperatures around 20 F (but local warming due to the sun being out). Rappelled down a thread from Mountain Hemlock branch to snow and walked on the snow to the tree trunk and out of sight. It is not uncommon to see similar looking spiders cruising around the snow near forest edges, although its not clear how they function in the cold and what they are hunting.

The new northernmost slug observations I've had in Juneau is Camping Cove Trail . Noticed somebody else also had them on this trail..but then Ned Rozzle reported population near Valdez, AK (isolated? introduced?)https://www.adn.com/alaska-news/science/2020/08/01/a-look-at-the-banana-slugs-that-ooze-over-coastal-alaska/
