Cap is convex, white to a light tan curling into gills. Gills mostly long some short. Stipe mostly white with some brown shading. Younger fruiting bodies growing up next to mushroom. Very hard, growing under oak and blackberry.

Cap, deep purple around the edges with blotches of lighter purple in the middle. Cap a little curled under. Big hole in the middle going into the stalk. Stalk was gray and rubbery. Growing near redwoods, CA native blackberry, and tanoak. No smell detected.
