White Peacock (Anartia jatrophae)Observer
gplacido23Description
Black fuzzy caterpillar hanging out in a very shallow area near the shoreline of a pond in an urban area of Fort Myers. I thought it was stranded and was there by mistake, but there was a tiny baby one that looks like the same species right next to it, viewable in the second photo. I'm confused as to if there's a caterpillar that hosts on an aquatic plant, or if they both happened to be there by mistake.

Perching Birds (Order Passeriformes)Observer
gplacido23Description
It is difficult to tell what species this bird is, but it is very tiny in size, only a little bigger than the size of a tufted titmouse. Appears to have been brown in color. I also retained the skull, which may be able to be used for IDing.
Found in the bushes immediately under the back window of Broward Dining Hall.

What
Coyote (Canis latrans)Observer
gplacido23Description
A coyote conspicuously passed through my backyard at about 10:30 am. I was eating on the elevated pooldeck of the yard when I spotted him/her, who was very out in the open, among lawn that intersects between my property and a few other neighbor's. The animal was very visible and easily identifiable, probably being about 20-25 feet away. And it was definitely not anyone's dog in the neighborhood; it was of a larger-medium build size, on the skinny side, and had a very straight tail. I ran to grab my phone from the other side of the yard for a picture, but by the time I got there, the coyote was running away into the neighbor's yard, glimpsing the coyote's backside trotting away. This occurred in Bardonia, NY, a hamlet of the town of Nanuet, in Rockland County.

Cedar Waxwing (Bombycilla cedrorum)Observer
gplacido23Description
Partially decomposed and damaged, but still distinguishable by yellow stomach (the yellow coloring did not show up in the photos) and red tail wing tips. Overall dark brown, but it was raining out and so specimen was wet. Appears to have struck either the 4th or 5th window from the end of the building; is on the ground inbetween both.
