Woody plant about 2 ft tall. Stem slightly flat to edged with papery winglike extensions along the stem in some sections. Leaves opposite and strongly rolled under along the margins which are entire. The top of the leaf is dark green while the underside is white to light green with a raised yellow midrib.

Found in a dense mat under about 3.5 feet of standing water on the lake bed. Plant about 2.5 ft long with bright green stem. Smaller darker green offshoots from the main stem common. Several small white star-shaped bulbils present.

Floating leaf found in about 3.5 feet of standing water. Leaf was green to brown with margins entire except for slight tearing and a long slit up the back where the stalk attached to the leaf blade. Midrib slightly raised on the under side of the leaf.

Plant found floating in water. Specimen was about 5 in long. Dark green highly dissected leaves with an almost branching like appearance. Numerous small black sac like bladders visible interspersed within the leaves.

About 2.5 ft tall brown and green sectioned stem. Leaves thin (about 3mm) and about 1 ft long clasping stem. Spikelets covered in dense white bristles. Two bracts present both as long or longer then the fruiting head.

Plant about 1.5 ft tall, stem hairy. Leaf margins entire to slightly toothed. Flowers growing out of leaf axis. Floral heads contain both ray and disk flowers. Ray flowers white, disk flowers yellow to pink. There are about 11-13 ray flowers per floral head.

Plant about 5ft tall yellow-green to green stem. Light brown fruits covered in fuzzy bristles. Long leaves clasping stem growing away from stem then folding back down toward the stem. Joints light brown.

Plant about 5 ft tall yellow-green to beige stem. Basal leafes long and about 1in wide. Non-basal leaves about 8in long clasping stem. Fruits are spikes growing from leaf axis. About 10 spikelets per head.

Inflorescence of disk and ray flowers. Ray flowers yellow with three lobes 10-12 ray flowers per head. Disk flowers brown to brownish yellow with hairy papus. Alternate leaves with margins slightly toothed. Stem slightly winged.
