Common Snapping Turtle (Chelydra serpentina)Observer

Previous observation but thought it would make for an interesting entry. Was never really sure what kind this was and I wonder if it may be an alligator snapping turtle? Has the distinctive mouth, and beak of a snapping turtle. Clawed webbed feet. Absolutely huge (only good picture I have of this thing but it was nearly longer than my arm).

I have on of these as a pet and so immediately recognized it. Distinctive red "ears" identify this animal. Webbing and fins rather than stumps identify it as a turtle rather than tortoise.

Distinctive patterning on top of fish identifies this as a Koi Carp. As well as the facial/snout shape and small whisker looking appendages on the area surrounding the mouth.

Floating across the top of the pond. Almost mistook them for pond lilies but the shape and color of the flower residing atop the water identified them as waterlilies.

Always see these at the beach. Same patterning on wings, same coloration. Sure that this is a Mew Gull

I wish I'd checked to see what the name for this plant was, but I think this is accurate. Gotta love the Arboretum. Picture is also from previous visit. Distintctive shaping and structure identifies this plant.

I'm honestly not entirely sure that this is a snowy egret, I at first thought of a crane, but this is the only thing that fits, let me know if I am wrong!Identifying black beack distinguishes it from the great egret.

Started growing in my backyard a few years ago. Never planted it, never cultivated it, just sort of showed up. Many different types of Hibiscus, the coloring distinguishes which type this is.
