Description

This is what I found at the Los Angeles River a day after the rain. It was laying on the sand dead. It had been washed ashore. :-( I did not know this could be found at the L.A River. Wondering if there are anymore or was it just my luck to find the only one.

What

European Carp (Cyprinus carpio)

Description

Some of the biggest Carps I have seen. No small sizes here. :-)

I love coming to this place to fish rather than the pier because this fish will give you a fight for their live, just try reeling in a 12lbs carp or even a 6lb for that matter from about 100 ft away or so and you will see what am talking about.

the adrenaline that flows thru your veins is one that you will not forget. and if you think that reeling it in it's hard just wait till you have to bring it out of the water you will need a partner for this and one with a net preferably, I would know, I tried to reel it out of the water in one hand and a net on the other and I got to tell you it was extremmely hard. anyways have fun and be safe.
