We found this baby snapping turtle (alligator we think, distinct rows of spikes down the shell) atop a frog in our pool skimmer. We warmed him up a little and took him to the creek nearby.

This fellow climbed out of Mary's Creek and up a large drainage toward Twilight Park. It was oddly calm, moving only its head up a bit to watch us then back down again. We were able to touch its shell and back foot. Perhaps this month's record rains have enabled its journey.
