There were thousands of these blister beetles on the wildflowers. They really seemed to like the brittle bush and the scorpion weed. I only saw them one evening but they were spotted down at Rio Salado a few days later.

Came around a corner and he had been sunning next to a rock wall. He shot across the trail and rattled and coiled. I slowly backed a bit and just stayed still until he decided to make his way down the mountain. South Mountain Park, Phoenix, AZ.
