What
Beetles (Order Coleoptera)Observer
katedoughtyDescription
I saw a small, thin jade-colored beetle. It was about a quarter to half an inch long. It was too fast for my camera, but it looked really cool! Thoughts? Ideas on what it was?

I heard a woodpecker but don't have good enough ears or eyes to see it. But I definitely heard one, I know that!
EDIT: I think it is a downy woodpecker. From what I heard on my Merlin Bird ID app, that is what the drumming sounded like.

What
American Robin (Turdus migratorius)Observer
katedoughtyDescription
I saw one of these hopping around at Yesler, and a thought came into my head: Tim Billo, if you read this, I would urge you to come up with a rap about American Robins to that song "Scenario" by A Tribe Called Quest. For example, it could go "Cheerio-yo, Cheerio-yo, Cheerily, cheerilup, cheerio-yo." Just a thought.

What
Song Sparrow (Melospiza melodia)Observer

Tree Swallow (Tachycineta bicolor)Observer
katedoughtyDescription
The swallows have such distinct movement patterns. It's incredible to me. They seem so chaotic yet I wonder what kind of patterns lie within, that we don't and can't understand.
