Smooth, waxy leaves about 2 inches wide and 2 inches long. The leaves were alternating on the branches. There were red galls all over the tree from insects laying eggs. It was a very tall and skinny tree. It is ornamental. The leaves were courted and the branches were skinny.

Description

Holly leaf-they were smooth, waxy leaves, and they were very shiny. There were small, red berries throughout the tree. There were prickles on the bigger leaves, and on the smaller leaves it was just an oval. The smaller leaves were about 1 inch, and the more mature leaves were 1-2 inches.

Description

A flowering tree at the Belton House. The leaves were about 2-3 inches long, with courted edges along each vein. The veins met evenly in the middle on each leaf. They had smooth surfaces. There were small clusters of spiky lime green balls (I assume fruit) distributed throughout the tree.

A tree with round little fruit balls that have little spikes on the end. They were all a light green color. The leaves were about 2 to 3 inches long, had courted edges, and were in groups of five.

Description

Very small leaves-1/2 to 1 inch. There is a cluster of three leaves on the end of the branch, and then 2 pair on opposite sides. The leaves are courted, and there are white and red prickles. There are fruit/seeds on the end of some of the branches in clusters of 2 or 3. The fruit has star shaped leaves on the end, with brown fuzzy material at the center of the star shaped leaves. The older branches with the white prickles are white, and the newer branches are green with red prickles.

Smaller leaves about 1 1/2 inches. Courted edges, the leaves have "teeth." The leaves are alternating. There is also a cluster of nuts with a smaller leafs around it. The lines in the middle of each leaf meet directly in the middle.
