This is my voucher for the Linden American Basswood. The leaves have some damage from herbivores that have enjoyed this leafy meal. There is also some excretions, eggs, and brown spots on these leaves. You can see the white discoloration that has come from the drying out of the leaves. The underside is a lighter shade of green than the side you see here. There are six main veins in the leaves which branch into many other veins.

Eastern Redbud (Cercis canadensis)Observer

This is my voucher of the Redbull tree. There are five main veins on this leaf, and you can see the white discoloration on the sides of the leaf. This tree was about 8 meters in height and was situated in a grassy area alongside neighboring trees. The underside of the leaves are slightly lighter in color than what you see here.

White Oak (Quercus alba)Observer

This is my voucher for the White Oak tree. The leaves are dry here and are darker than when they were found. However, there are also spots of discoloration as seen on the top left parts of the leaves resulting from storage in my field notebook. There is a main vein going down the center of the leaf, with other prominent veins separating from the main one into each lobe. This tree was found in a grassy area and the trunk was very thick. There are many acorns (of a lime green color) topped by small wooden caps.

Please help me ID this fungi! It was found growing on the tree bark in the midst of leaf litter. It has shades of purple, pink, that fade out into a peach ring that surrounds the cap of the mushroom. Where the cap and the gills meet, is an uneven texture.

This is my voucher for the Willow Oak Tree. As you can see, the leaves are dried and have lost their moisture, which had previously brightened the leaf color. The leaves are rough in texture and dark and all are the same size. There is a main vein going vertically through the center of the leaf. The underside of the leaf has a lighter green color.

Fall Webworm Moth (Hyphantria cunea)Observer

This caterpillar was found in a forest with a large amount of canopy cover, on a cloudy and rainy day. It was making its way around the different logs scavenging for food. The picture isn't very clear but the sides of the caterpillar have yellow spots and the middle is black and grey. The hairs are all white.

This tree is popular in places where there is sources of water, which is indicative of the different kinds of species that may live in that water (frogs, salamanders, fish, etc). This deciduous tree is changing its color to a burgundy one and the leaves are falling off into the water.

This frog was found sitting near the muddy water under the boardwalk. It is brown on both sides of its body and green in the middle. This coloration aids its camouflage - making it very difficult to spot! Several of these were found and the coloration of each differed in the amount of brown and green on the body of each frog.

North American Toads (Genus Anaxyrus)Observer

This toad, only a couple of inches wide, is covered in black spots with little red warts to help identify the species of it. It was found near a log near leaf litter. Its legs are long and its skin is drier than a frog's skin.
