The butterfly was first sighted by me in May 2015 near my house in Subang Jaya, Selangor. It was later sighted in the Subang Ria Park by me. But the intensive clearing of its host plant Passiflora suberosa made the butterflies disappear from these sites. I later observed the butterfly in Bukit Cahaya (Taman Botani Negara), in Shah Alam as well as in Persiaran Hulu Langat, Shah Alam, Selangor. It has thus established itself as a feral species in this state since then. The butterfly was first sighted by a butterfly group, Butterfly Circle, in 2009 in Pulau Langkawi. The butterfly is believed to have originated from the butterflies released from Thailand after they were imported to that country. From its original country of South America, this butterfly has come to Asia and slowly moving towards Singapore.

This moth was seen resting on a pillar in the temporary KTM Station (Subang Jaya) near the Federal Highway at about 1.05 pm. The area was not well lit because of the present LRT-KTM stations construction. I took this shot with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 camera rather than my Canon Powershot SX60 HS. The moth did not move from its position in spite of the many flash shots I took [f/5.8, 1/100 sec, ISO-800]
