Sooty Grouse (Dendragapus fuliginosus)

Observer

Description

Round brown placid bird flew onto truck hood, not 15 feet from me; sat a while, then flew to garage roof, where I took these photos. Spotted again, three properties over from us. Can't see tail feathers, could this be a Spruce grouse, Ruffed grouse or Sooty grouse?
