Doesn't seem to have pores or gills. The spores seem to be coming from the edges and under the top layer of the cap. The part of the mushroom that is underground is as large as the cap. This one had a stem that is around 12 inches. We found some a few weeks ago that had larger caps but the stems were only a few inches. The stalk tapers a bit before it attaches to the cap.
