I didn't get a very good or long look at it, while at Yellowstone NP, but it was unmistakably a black bear running throw the snow and behind some trees. My first time seeing one in the wild, while I would have liked to have seen it a bit closer and for a bit longer, it was still a wonderful sight.

Not my first time to see Elk in the wild, but still great because of the numbers of them. The first time I actually had seen them was on the same trip, though somewhere in Arizona, though I forget exactly where, also saw one at the Grand Canyon NP a few days before that.

My first time visiting Yellowstone National park. I had been wanting to go there for years and finally got to go in 2010. The park was great even though some of the roads were still closed to to snow and repairs from the snow. Bison were everywhere, so were the elk.

It had been a while since I'd seen so many black-bellied whistling ducks. I saw them on the pond when I was at a dr's appt near a nice hospital.
