First time i see this flower at my house. I see 4 petals, 4 sepals, super inferior ovary, alternate leaf arrangement and alternate/opposite leaflet arrangement. There are 4 lower stamens with large red anthers and 4 upper stamens with smaller white anthers. The developing flower buds are hairy and the mature flower is not. The flower has a slight odor to it.

6 individuals on the road feeding with at least 2 more in the leaf litter. They all started piling up on the road before a biker created a large shpere of disturbance and scared the off.

So the camera could not really campture it well but it is a huge web with a large catch in the leaves and from trunk to trunk in between some madrones. It is only visible facing to the west but invisible on the south.

Funnel shaped web though it is almost transparent in the camera. The fan spreads out to cover a larger area and the funnel leads down into a hole in the leaf litter.
