Cherry Creek State Park & Reservoir is surrounded by
the suburban area about nine miles south of downtown Denver, CO. The Reservoir was constructed by the Corp of Engineers in 1950 for flood control and irrigation purposes. The Park is a heavily-used multi-use recreation area, and the Wetland area lies on the southern end of CCSP&R.
