Pelagic Squids (Order Oegopsida)Observer
mgarcia119Description
We found this during one of the deeper trawls, it was some type of small squid that I can't identify. The chromatophores were moving very fast upon inspection, and you can see them clearly in the photo.
What
Prawns (Suborder Dendrobranchiata)Observer
mgarcia119Description
Not sure what type of shrimp it is, but we pulled it up during a trawl. It was a male, because of the rostrum on his head and had very long, curly antenna.
What
Lobate Comb Jellies (Order Lobata)Observer
mgarcia119Description
When we were doing trawls, we pulled up a lot of ctenophores. It's hard to see, but I can only identify it as being in the order Lobata because of the oral lobes that are visible.

What
Atlantic Stingray (Hypanus sabinus)Observer
mgarcia119Description
We did a trawl net and pulled up this Atlantic Stingray. We were able to identify him by the point on his nose. He was a male, because we found claspers underneath him. He seemed young and was very feisty when handled. He had a venomous barb and tried jabbing it at some of us a few times.

Atlantic Sea Nettle (Chrysaora quinquecirrha)Observer
mgarcia119Description
We were doing a plankton tow, and when we pulled up the net it contained this jellyfish. Someone got stung while pulling it up, so we knew immediately it was a stinging jelly. When we put it in a display case, we were able to identify it further.
